Internet connection speed upgraded but still slow

I upgraded my internet from 3 Mbps to 6 Mbps  The speed has increased a little bit but not much. I just did the speed test and my download speed is 2.4 Mbps and the upload speed is 0.7 Mbps  This is only a slight improvement from when I was only paying for 3 Mbps  Shouldn't my download speed be around 6 Mbps now? I have AT&T U verse and the 6 is the highest speed they offer for my area currently. I am working on a desktop connected wireless. Any help would be appreciated.

internet very slow

Have you checked with your connection settings because if you told your ISP to upgrade and check the details after login to the broadband connection.

as every Internet connection provider is providing the details of the speed and usage of the Internet. In the package details you have to check whether it was upgraded or not. If it is showing that 6 Mbps you need to have to contact customer care for this slow speed.

One more thing is to check whether the downloads are running in background or not. Your Internet will be slow because if the background downloads are running, exit or close that programmes.

After once test the Internet connection speed, lots of providers check the internet speed best is that speedtest.net. go with it.

May your PC is infected with virus or trojans once clean with any good antivirus programmes and then check your Internet connection speed.

Every time I switch off my computer, I need to restart it before switching it off why is it happening?

I work on computer about an hour or so and every time I switch off my computer, I need to restart it before switching it off. I do not know why it happens? There is no virus in my system as I use Microsoft Essentials and it cleans my computer from any sort of malware or virus.

needs to restart windows

Might be there is a virus in your system because of the threats that present in your system this is happening. Do one thing just remove Microsoft essentials and install the latest antivirus full edition like Norton internet security they gives you a 30 days trial where you can scan the whole system for threats and it protects your PC for 30 days if you are satisfied with it you can buy a full version.

Say some antivirus like free edition or shareware version doesn't scan in-depth of a system where the threats still present and the system files will be effected so you need to know that free edition has only limited features in order to get rid of these types of threats you need to try these Panda  Symantec ..etc they provide trial version for 30 days and you can observe the change.

Many people don't know just they bought antivirus of dollars but the functioning and features were not known by every consumer just they bought installs it in system that's all. One should know the features and options available in the Security software's.

"Internet Explorer Stopped Working"? My Computer keeps saying

I've seen similar situations to this but the problem is: It has no viruses and the protection shield is on and it still says it stopped working besides the page that I go on still shows behind the box that says it. I've tried the whole Control Panel thing with the virus check and everything and the scan to see what's wrong with it (if it has a problem) and it says that it's completely fine yet it still shows up every time I try to go on the Internet. Anyone went through this or has any idea in how to fix this? It's been going on for 5 days.

windows computer virus

Might be your PC is still infected with the virus or malware because there are many things that drive to this problem.

If you are using the free version of antivirus that does not have full features in which it not scans in depth so the infection still remains in depth you need to know whether you have installed full version of antivirus or not? If you have installed full version of antivirus and you might have scanned the whole system without updating the virus definitions.

If you have scanned the whole system with free version of antivirus that might remove the virus partially so you need to know virus was not cleaned fully from your system might be still infected and your system files are not working properly so that's why you are facing this kind of problem.

You need to repair your windows with the Windows installation disc that might clear the problem
